Ultra Learning

Build real mastery with document-based syllabus generation, adaptive spaced review, and module-level mastery gates.

Quick Start

  1. Open Ultra Learning. If you already have plans, the coach asks you to continue a recent plan or start a new project. If you have no plans, the coach asks: What do you want to ultra learn?
  2. After you provide the project topic, the next coach question is your timeline. You can answer with days, weeks, months, years, a date, or indefinite.
  3. After timeline capture, the coach asks your time commitment per day, week, or month. This is required to build schedules and spaced recall practice.
  4. If timeline and time commitment look unrealistic together, the coach flags this, explains why, and suggests a feasible adjustment. You can still explicitly confirm your original plan.
  5. Next, the coach asks your learning level or difficulty target (for example school, college, university/PhD, black belt, master electrician). If you say you do not know, the coach recommends a level and asks you to confirm it.
  6. Then the coach asks your current level right now. If you do not know, it proposes starting from beginner/fundamentals and asks for explicit confirmation.
  7. Once intake is complete, the coach benchmarks high-quality syllabus structures from leading institutions before presenting your syllabus sections. This uses live web research, records API usage costs, and applies timezone-region alignment for jurisdiction-sensitive subjects like law.
  8. The coach then asks if you want changes to the high-level syllabus. It applies your requested edits directly. After approval, it builds one section at a time so cost and generation load stay controlled.
  9. After you approve the high-level syllabus, the coach shows section cards directly in chat. Click Start on any section to generate that section and open its dedicated page with Loop 1 reps, Loop 2 transfer tasks, upcoming tests, and progress metrics.
  10. Inside a section page, click Create study plan to generate a day-by-day schedule for that module using your saved time budget (day/week/month). The plan includes delayed recall windows, interleaving guidance, and external study resources for each day.
  11. Optional: upload a PDF, Word, text, or HTML file as source material.
  12. Click Ingest Source to parse and store the document.
  13. Click Generate Outline to draft top-level sections, then edit, reorder, add, or remove sections inline.
  14. Click Generate Plan to expand that outline into an institutional syllabus.
  15. Run baseline and complete due reviews before marking modules complete.

Closed-Loop Learning Flow

Loop 1: Rapid skill reps

Use Today, Reviews, and Practice for fast cycles: challenge, answer, immediate feedback, error correction, retry, and difficulty calibration.

Loop 2: Transfer and adaptation

Use Projects and Assessments to test performance in messier, real-world tasks where there can be multiple valid approaches.

Running both loops is what builds durable skill and avoids plateauing on simple drills.

How Mastery Gates Work

A module unlocks only when retrieval performance and transfer-task scores meet the plan threshold (default 90%). This keeps progress tied to demonstrated competence.

Reminder Settings

Ultra Learning supports daily reminders with quiet hours and timezone controls. Use reminder preferences to set channel, cadence, and maximum nudges per day.

Phase 2 Assessments

Each module now supports short-answer checks, essay prompts, presentation tasks, and exam-style questions. Submit work for rubric scoring and next-step drill guidance.

Troubleshooting

  • Upload rejected: use PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, or HTML under 5MB.
  • No readable text: the file likely contains scanned images without extractable text.
  • Module cannot complete: finish more due reviews and transfer tasks to pass the mastery gate.
  • Plan generation timeout: open browser console and look for [ultra-learning-ui] logs. Copy thetraceId from the failed request so support can match it with server logs.
  • Grading feedback is weak: include full reasoning and evidence in your submission before retrying.
  • Need to delete a project: ask the Ultralearning Coach to delete the specific project. The coach will require an explicit confirmation because deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
